LINK Board promotes respected regional leader
The Executive Committee of the Golden Triangle Development LINK announced today that Meryl Fisackerly has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. The appointment follows the departure of Iain Vasey, who stepped down from the role.
Fisackerly brings more than seven years of deep institutional knowledge and regional relationships to the role. During her tenure at the LINK, the organization has achieved significant milestones in industrial recruitment, capital investment, and workforce development across Clay, Lowndes, and Oktibbeha Counties. She is widely recognized by community leaders, elected officials, economic development partners, and industry
stakeholders throughout Northeast Mississippi.
“Meryl has had a successful tenure at the LINK and has built strong, meaningful relationships across the region,” said Board Chairman Bain Nickels. “She understands our communities, our assets, and our partners well, and we are confident in her ability to lead this organization going forward.”
The LINK also expressed gratitude to Vasey for his service during his time with the organization and wished him success in the future.
“I have great respect for the work the LINK does and for the communities it serves,” said Vasey. “I wish Meryl and the entire team continued success, and I am confident the Golden Triangle is in excellent hands.”
Fisackerly previously served as Chief Operating Officer, where she led daily operations and directed the organization’s industrial recruitment and private-sector fundraising strategies. She assumed interim leadership of the LINK last year and has continued to advance the organization’s mission without interruption.
“Serving the Golden Triangle through economic development has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” said Fisackerly. “Over the past seven years, I have had the opportunity to serve this organization in many different roles, and through each step of that journey, I’ve learned that I did not choose economic development, it chose me. I am incredibly grateful to the mentors and economic developers who came before me and generously shared their knowledge, guidance, and passion.
