GTR LINK CEO to serve on EMCC Board of Trustees

GOLDEN TRIANGLE, Mississippi – Golden Triangle Development LINK CEO Joe Max Higgins, Jr., was appointed to the Board of Trustees for East Mississippi Community College this morning by the Lowndes County Board of Supervisors.

“Several folks from the business and industry community, elected officials and other trustees encouraged me to apply for the vacancy,” said Higgins.

“As a general rule, I don’t serve on boards but the success of EMCC is vital to our success as a region. The Communiversity was a LINK initiative and this will allow me the opportunity to help the programs there be all that they can be. Lance will be really difficult to replace and I look forward to working with the other board members to get the finances on more stable ground.”

Higgins will serve the remainder of an unexpired term vacated by Lance Walters of PACCAR. The term expires March 31, 2023.
